Let’s fix the $cost of low productivity

Here’s an idea – let’s shift the focus from cost-cutting, to fixing the cost of lost productivity.  It’s costing the world economy billions. $438 billion to be exact (according to Gallup) as a result of employee engagement falling by 2%.

The term ‘employee engagement’ may sound fluffy, but it’s impact is very real, and addressing it is something every organization can do – simply by focusing on developing their people managers (the impact of people managers account for 70% of the employee engagement number).

Rather than calculating what could be saved by cutting budgets, what if we calculated what could be gained in productivity by investing in people manager development? Who wants to do the math on that??
